About Orrie

A fine art photographer, Orrie specializes in an impressionistic style of documentary portraiture and nature, intimate outtakes from her life and observations from her environment. Often emotional, soft, and beautiful, truth telling and revealing, the viewer is confronted with images in a perspective that’s often quickly overlooked. While her work is frequently defined by the bold use of color and thoughtful compositions, the forms are emphasized by the sculptural quality of light and shadow.

Orrie has shown her work in many solo and group exhibitions in galleries throughout the US and internationally. She was the sole nominee by Elisabeth Sussman, the curator of photography from the Whitney Museum, in an exhibition at the Bruce Silverstein Gallery in NYC. Orrie studied at Pratt Institute and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in the Netherlands. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
